The Who and Why Truth Behind the Deceptive Matrix We Live In

I woke up early this morning with this topic on my mind. While staring at the ceiling in the dark my mind became consumed with the question: What does it mean to be “awake” in these last days before the return of Christ? This blog has compiled over 700 articles documenting what I believe represents the matrix of deception we live in. But missing, or not completely clear in all of this was the who and why question.

Eventually you have to ask yourself why? Why do we live in this elaborate matrix of deception? Then you have to ponder who is orchestrating all this deception? The answer is much bigger than most people can or will comprehend.

Mike Adams did a great job summarizing most of the deception in the article and mini-documentary links below.  Take a few minutes to scan the list of deception, lies, and myths, then watch The War on Reality mini-documentary:

EVERYTHING IS RIGGED: Medicine, science, elections, the media, money, education, search engines, social media…

Mike Adams completely missed (or avoided) the who and why question. That’s what I want to add to his article and mini-documentary.

The Who and Why of the Deceptive Matrix We Live In

Two scriptures immediately come to mind:

John 8:44 – Speaking to a group of Jews, Jesus says, “You belong to your father, the devil, and you want to carry out your father’s desires. He was a murderer from the beginning, not holding to the truth, for there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks his native language, for he is a liar and the father of lies”, and..

John 10:10 where he records Jesus saying, “The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.” This verse sets up a contrast between “the thief,” the destroyer; and Jesus, the life-giver.

These two scriptures are the most concise and comprehensive answer to the question of who and why. It presents the problem and the solution in four simple but profound sentences.

I want you to consider that a lot of what you have been taught (indoctrination) and believe about this world and your place in it is a lie. The motive quite literally is to steal, kill, and destroy your mind, body, and soul and ultimately your opportunity to spend eternity with God. Comprehend and ponder that because compared to this truth everything else in this world is nothing but foolishness.

How is Satan god of this world (2 Corinthians 4:4)?

The phrase “god of this world” (or “god of this age”) indicates that Satan is the major influence on the ideals, opinions, goals, hopes and views of the majority of people. His influence also encompasses the world’s philosophies, education, and commerce. The thoughts, ideas, speculations and false religions of the world are under his control and have sprung from his lies and deceptions.

Satan is also called the “prince of the power of the air” in Ephesians 2:2. He is the “ruler of this world” in John 12:31. These titles and many more signify Satan’s capabilities. To say, for example, that Satan is the “prince of the power of the air” is to signify that in some way he rules over the world and the people in it.

This is not to say that he rules the world completely; God is still sovereign. But it does mean that God, in His infinite wisdom, has allowed Satan to operate in this world within the boundaries God has set for him. When the Bible says Satan has power over the world, we must remember that God has given him domain over unbelievers only. Believers are no longer under the rule of Satan (Colossians 1:13). Unbelievers, on the other hand, are caught “in the snare of the devil” (2 Timothy 2:26), lie in the “power of the evil one” (1 John 5:19), and are in bondage to Satan (Ephesians 2:2).

So, when the Bible says that Satan is the “god of this world,” it is not saying that he has ultimate authority. It is conveying the idea that Satan rules over the unbelieving world in a specific way. In 2 Corinthians 4:4, the unbeliever follows Satan’s agenda: “The god of this world has blinded the minds of unbelievers, so that they cannot see the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ.” Satan’s scheme includes promoting false philosophies in the world—philosophies that blind the unbeliever to the truth of the Gospel. Satan’s philosophies are the fortresses in which people are imprisoned, and they must be set free by Christ.

An example of one such false philosophy is the belief that man can earn God’s favor by a certain act or acts. In almost every false religion, meriting God’s favor or earning eternal life is a predominant theme. Earning salvation by works, however, is contrary to biblical revelation. Man cannot work to earn God’s favor; eternal life is a free gift (see Ephesians 2:8-9). And that free gift is available through Jesus Christ and Him alone (John 3:16; 14:6). You may ask why mankind does not simply receive the free gift of salvation (John 1:12). The answer is that Satan—the god of this world—has tempted mankind to follow his pride instead. Satan sets the agenda, the unbelieving world follows, and mankind continues to be deceived. It is no wonder that Scripture calls Satan a liar (John 8:44).

To be awake (to me) simply means you’re aware of Satan’s lies, deception, and agenda.

However, this is not what awake means to most people. There are plenty of people who are awake to much of the deception in the world, but lost when it comes to the truth behind the who and why question.  They attribute all the deception and lies to some rich, controlling oligarchy. They believe this oligarchy has been able to orchestrate global events in line with last days Bible prophecy to fool Christians. Like the regathering of the Jews to Israel, and we’re the final generation before the second coming  of Jesus Christ.

This position completely discounts the fact that approximately 2/3rds of predictive prophecy in the Bible has already happened exactly as it was foretold.  No other religion in the world can make that claim.

George Sweeting in Your Future wrote:

“More than a fourth of the Bible is predictive prophecy. Approximately one-third of it has yet to be fulfilled. Both the Old and New Testaments are full of promises about the return of Jesus Christ. Over 1,800 references appear in the Old Testament, and seventeen Old Testament books give prominence to this theme. Of the 260 chapters in the New Testament, there are more than 300 references to the Lord’s return—one out of every thirty verses. Twenty-three of the twenty-seven New Testament books refer to this great event. For every prophecy on the first coming of Christ, there are eight on Christ’s second coming.”

The Testimony of the Evangelists, Examined by the Rules of Evidence Administered in Courts of Justice is an 1846 Christian apologetic work by Simon Greenleaf, a principal founder of the Harvard Law School.

Greenleaf’s Treatise on the Law of Evidence, published in three volumes between 1842 and 1853, forms the basis for his study of the Gospels. Greenleaf came to the conclusion that the witnesses were reliable, and the resurrection of Jesus occurred. Testimony of the Evangelists is sometimes cited by contemporary Christian apologists.
