Vitamix Chronicles: The 24 oz Pineapple Orange Banana Smoothie – 82 Calories

This is my current favorite fruit smoothie at just 82 calories for a large 24 ounces glass. Without honey or any extra sweetener. However, add Stevia if you want it sweeter.

Do a YouTube search and find hundreds of ideas.

For 6 of these smoothies I buy 6 naval oranges, 3 or more organic bananas, and a cored sliced container of fresh pineapple. It’s easier when the pineapple is pre-sliced.

I tried this without the banana and it’s not the same.  The half banana adds sweetness, fiber and a smooth creamier texture to the smoothie. It doesn’t overpower the orange pineapple flavor either.

The pineapple orange banana smoothie:

Vitamix:  Toss in 1 large peeled naval orange (87 calories), half banana peeled (50 calories), slice of Pineapple (28 calories), a couple cups of ice, 12 ounces distilled water.

Use Vitamix on slow to grind the mix up and then fast for up to a minute. Use the plunger to push ice and contents down.

Total of 165 calories for 2 – 24 oz glasses, or 82.5 calories each. Even if you drink both of them it’s just 165 calories.  A filling mid-morning snack however one 24 ounce glass was the equivalent to the ice and distilled water. So it helps with hydration.

Add a powdered multivitamin or take a multi with the smoothie.

It would also make a delicious skinny natural drink if you added a splash of vodka or rum.
