He Is Everywhere: Clavius (Joseph Fiennes) interrogates Bartholomew (Stephen Hagan) about Jesus.

I recommend this movie even though it reinforces all the differences in so many denominations when Bartholomew proclaims in this scene below “this means eternal life to all men who believe.” This was actually Paul’s message and ministry that wasn’t revealed until over three years after Jesus’ death and after Stephen was stoned. Jesus revealed to Paul the mystery that had been hidden from the ages that brought “eternal life to all men (including gentiles) who believe.” Jesus and the disciples brought their message to the Jew first who rejected Him. It was Paul who brought us the mystery kept hidden (in half the New Testament) or “eternal life to all men (gentiles and Jews) who believed.” Many today mix these two ministries up into just one mess of contradicting messages because people aren’t rightly dividing the Word. And technically, Jesus (and His disciples) weren’t “everywhere” until the Holy Spirit came after Pentecost in a new and different way.

Jesus said: “Jerusalem, Jerusalem, you who kill the prophets and stone those sent to you, how often I have longed to gather your children together, as a hen gathers her chicks under her wings, and you were not willing.” I believe the first mention of “Jerusalem” was Christ’s ministry on earth that was rejected (strike 1). Christ prayed on the cross “forgive them for they know not what they’re doing.” I believe God answers this prayer. When “Jerusalem” was mentioned the second time I believe it represents a second chance (“Jerusalem, Jerusalem,”) for the Jews; until Stephen was stoned (strike 2 and the Jews are out). Then we get Paul’s ministry three years later to the gentiles and the Jews who believe in Jesus’ miraculous birth, life, death and resurrection that proves He is who He claimed to be.
