Are You Aware Your House, Condo, or Apartment Can Fart Sewer Gas? Learn How To Plug the Holes.

Ezekiel Diet Note:  One big issue I don’t see anyone else writing or talking about  today is home, condo or apartment sewage gas burp farts into the home every time your AC or heat kicks on, and to a lesser extent during operation. Or any time you turn on a bathroom exhaust fan that can pull 300 cubic feet of air a minute.

One of the problems with energy efficient homes today is they’re so airtight that the suction from your AC air handler will actually draw air intake from the sewer drain pipes.  So sinks, tubs, washing machine drains and even hot water heater spill pan drains that have p-traps without the water block in the P part of the trap become new air intake holes.

Summary: Once the water in your drain p-trap(s) evaporate and opens up that drain to the sewer then your AC air handler will start drawing intake air from your sewage pipes.

In today’s homes with so many bathrooms, tubs, showers, saunas, water heater pans and even washing machine drain pipes the likelihood that half of them are dry right now and drawing intake air from your sewage is very likely.

If your hot water heater is inside your home (not in a garage) it most likely has a spill pan and drain with a dry p-trap. The p-trap may be in the concrete floor or below a frame floor and you’re not even aware it’s there and dry. Often in condos the hot water heater is in the same closet with the AC air handler. So every time the AC kicks on with a hard draw it will pull a fart from that water heater pan drain. If your water heater drain and p-trap is dry it will be constantly burping sewage farts into the condo or apartment. If your water heater spill pan is inside and has a drain (normally in high rise and apartments) pour a 16 oz bottle of water into the pan every other month to make sure that p-trap stays filled.

How do I stop it? You have to be diligent to keep p-traps filled in bathrooms that are seldom used. The minute they dry out and open up to air intake your air quality and health will take a turn for the worse.

This problem is the reason why better hotels will have the faucet drains closed in sinks and showers when you arrive. Cleaning staff are instructed to make sure the p-traps are replenished and drains closed to slow evaporation. If that room sits too long between rentals the p-traps will dry out. They also close drains to eliminate sewage smell complaints from dry drain p-traps when the customer arrives.

Of course the big daddy drain air intake horror show is your toilet(s). That’s a 3 inch drain pipe and p-trap so it takes a while for it to evaporate; but they will. And once that happens everyone will know it right away.

What else can you do?  On nice days without heavy chemtrailing (aerosolized poison) or chemtrails the day before, open up your home and exhaust the air and replace it with better air.  But this is hit or miss as the aerosolized chemicals from the last several days is still in the air at ground level. You’re just swapping one poison for intentionally delivered new poisons. You could also use a Hepa type air filter, and you could purchase better air-filters for your AC handler. If you need a good reason to spend more for better air filtration; this is it.
