I am ranking America’s twenty largest banks from safest to riskiest using the exact same methodology that Warren Buffett applies when evaluating financial institutions. No opinions. No speculation. No bias toward any particular bank. Just cold, hard data pulled directly from FDIC filings, Federal Reserve reports, and regulatory disclosures that anyone can access but almost nobody bothers to read. And I promise you, the results are going to surprise you. Banks that you assumed were rock solid will appear in places you never expected. Institutions that get praised on financial television will reveal dangerous vulnerabilities. The gap between the safest and riskiest banks is so enormous that it will fundamentally change how you think about where your money belongs.

I spent three weeks analyzing every data point that matters for bank safety. Capital ratios. Commercial real estate exposure. Unrealized securities losses. Deposit stability. Texas Ratios. Management quality. Regulatory standing. G-SIB designation. I combined these seven factors into a comprehensive safety score from zero to one hundred for each bank.
