When the Holy Spirit is Directing Your Steps

Ezekiel Diet Note:  Recently I went to a Walmart pharmacy to pick up a prescription for my other half. I didn’t know it at the time but I was walking into a hornet’s nest.

When I arrived there were 3 or 4 people in line so I got in line. As I did the guy in front of me turns around and makes this snide comment.. “yeah right, like you just happened to show up right now.” I then started to understand this guy was losing it and being loud, indignant, and threatening with the pharmacy women because of some discrepancy in his insurance and meds he needed. He was quite literally off-his-meds.

Everyone just assumed I was security there to subdue this guy if he got physical.  My body description would be the size of Reacher (not as ripped) at my best and Tony Soprano mid-season at my worst.

There was an older Asian woman in the front of the line who stared back at me oddly during this little ordeal.  As the line moved up I ended up at the front of the line and this older Asian woman finishes up at the pharmacy window and stops in front of me and stares intently into my eyes, like she was trying to determine if I was human. I smiled back and nodded and she walked away. Odd I thought.

As I thought about this, I believe this older Asian woman must of felt threatened and was praying for God to intervene in this situation with this beligerant off-his-meds guy.

It occurred to me later, this is exactly how the Holy Spirit interacts in daily life from my experience. Unbeknownst to me, my steps were directed to be the answer to this old woman’s prayer. Just my presence standing behind this crazy guy deescalated this situation and she recognized it as the answer to her prayer. She thought I was an angel.
