No One on the Streets, No One in Offices, No One in Restaurants—China’s Population Under 1 Billion

China recently released its 2025 population data. According to the National Bureau of Statistics of China, the total population is expected to drop to around 1.405 billion, a decrease of 3.39 million from the previous year. This marks the fourth consecutive year of negative growth.
